Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas is the third series in the Sarah J. Maas universe, following Bryce Quinlan, a half-Fae who’s trying to find out what happened after her closest friends were brutally murdered. Like SJM’s other series A Court of Thorns and Roses and Throne of Glass, Crescent City follows fae, but unlike her other series, it’s actually set in modern times. Think magical creatures like fae and angels, but also cellphones and pizza.
Crescent City is hit and miss for some people, but personally we think House of Earth and Blood is Sarah J. Maas’s best work. Murder mystery meets magical creatures is impossible to top. Not to mention Crescent City binds the Maasverse together, which makes it required reading.
Entering Lunathion is a notoriously difficult feat, and we’re sure you’ve heard the jokes about the first 200-page lore dump. While we love Crescent City, we know it can be overwhelming, so we put together a Crescent City character guide.
