The time has come, and Maasverse fans have finally received the good news: Sarah J. Maas has finished the first draft of ACOTAR 6, the highly anticipated next installment in her A Court of Thorns and Roses series.

It’s been a long time since we read A Court of Silver Flames (published in February 16, 2021), and let’s be honest, your memory is probably a little hazy. So we’ve put together a master refresher post with everything you need to know before diving into ACOTAR 6. This post will likely change and evolve over the next few months (or maybe even years) as we count down to release day and answer frequently asked questions along the way.

But before we dive in, a few ground rules:

  • This post contains major ACOTAR spoilers.
  • Crescent City and Throne of Glass related information are hidden behind spoiler tags since not everyone has read them (although you totally should).
  • If you have any questions that you think should be included in this post, please let us know in the comments and we can update them.
  • This is not a book summary post. (Those are coming soon!) Instead, we’re focusing on the major character arcs, loose threads, and unresolved plots that might be important in ACOTAR 6.
  • There’s also a FAQ section at the bottom, which we expect to grow as readers send in more questions.

Without further ado, here’s everything you need to remember before ACOTAR 6.

Feyre, Rhysand, and Nyx Are Living Happily Ever After

Feyre kills a faerie named Andras at the beginning of A Court of Thorns and Roses to feed her family, who are living in poverty. Unbeknownst to her, Andras was one of Tamlin’s sentries. Tamlin has been sending his sentries into the human realm, hoping a mortal woman who hates faeries will kill one of them. His plan? Bring her back to the Spring Court, romance her, and break the curse Amarantha placed on him.

After Feyre kills Andras, Tamlin brings her to the Spring Court. They fall in love. But when the time comes, Tamlin cannot go through with the final step, sends Feyre home, and lets the curse run its course. Feyre returns, undergoes three brutal trials Under the Mountain (including killing the Middengard Wyrm, solving a riddle, and murdering two young faeries), and breaks the curse. Amarantha kills her anyway. The High Lords resurrect Feyre, turning her into a High Fae.

Tamlin proposes, but both he and Feyre suffer from severe PTSD. Feyre is also unknowingly mated to Rhysand. On their wedding day, Rhysand shows up to collect on the bargain they made Under the Mountain and whisks her away. Through their time together, Feyre begins healing.

When Tamlin locks Feyre in the Spring Court mansion, Morrigan and Rhysand stage a rescue, and Feyre begins working with the Night Court. She trains, gathers intel, prepares for war, and eventually falls in love with Rhys. They mate, marry, and Feyre becomes High Lady of the Night Court.

War with Hybern arrives. Feyre and Rhys fight alongside their found family. When the Cauldron is destroyed after Amren unleashes her true form, Rhysand channels his power through Feyre to repair it and dies. Crescent City (CC) Spoilers: The Cauldron is essentially the kill switch for their world. More on how that connects to the greater Maasverse here. The High Lords resurrect Rhysand, and he and Feyre are reunited.

This is where their main arc essentially wraps. A Court of Frost and Starlight functions as a Christmas novella and transitional POV bridge. By the end of that book, Feyre and Rhys decide to try for a baby.

In A Court of Silver Flames, Feyre is pregnant, but because she conceived while in Illyrian form, the pregnancy becomes life-threatening for both her and the baby. Throughout the book, the Inner Circle searches desperately for a solution but finds nothing. When Feyre goes into labor, she nearly dies. Nesta makes a bargain with the Cauldron: return the power it took from her in exchange for Feyre’s life.

The Cauldron agrees. Nesta’s alters both her and Feyre’s anatomies, allowing them to safely give birth to Illyrian children.

Feyre and Rhysand welcome Nyx, a baby boy and live happily ever after with their friends.

Nesta’s Powers, Cassian, Valkyries, and Starborn Fae

Nesta is depicted as the mean sister in A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury. She is greedy, aggressive and appears to only care for Elain.

But, Nesta is sensitive and perceptive, and she wears her wit like an armor to protect herself.

The King of Hybern kidnaps Nesta and Elain at the end of A Court of Mist and Fury and puts them in the Cauldron to prove to the mortal queens that the Cauldron can transform mortal women into faeries.

Nesta fights the Cauldron and takes something from the Cauldron. She calls it the power of death.

Traumatized and scared, Nesta begins adjusting to Fae life, however she has a lot of trouble. She and Cassian have an obvious attraction but Nesta resists it as long as she can.

During the war effort, Nesta uses her connection to the Cauldron to try and track the Hybern armies. Elain kills the King of Hybern.

Their father, whom Nesta resented for letting them live in poverty, also dies.

In A Court of Silver Flames, Nesta is grieving and lets her rage consume her. Feyre and the Inner Circle give her an ultimatum to live in the House of Wind, work at the library under the palace, and train with Cassian to work out her issues.

Nesta initially resists training, but eventually grows to enjoy it. She also befriends the House of Wind. She continues hooking up with Cassian although she doesn’t want to emotionally connect. She brings other women to the training sessions including Gwyn, a priestess who works at the library, and Emerie, an Illyrian woman with clipped wings.

The three women begin training and realize they have warriors in them. Nesta begins healing and working through her trauma. Her powers continue growing inside of her but she won’t talk to anyone. She continues to push Feyre and Elain away despite her healing journey.

Cassian takes the women to a camp where they make weapons, a tradition of Illyrian warriors, and Nesta imbues three weapons with her power without intending to. A greatsword, a longsword and a dagger. She names one of the swords Ataraxia and keeps it for herself, gives the other sword to Rhys and the dagger is gifted to Eris in exchange for his help.

Nesta and the others begin tracking the Dread Trove, magical but deadly artifacts (see more on the Trove here). Nesta can wield the Trove: the Mask which can control the dead, the Harp which can help them travel through time and space, and the Crown which can control others.

Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie become close and relate to the Valkyries, ancient female warriors who rode on pegasuses. They are kidnapped for the Blood Rite, which they win, defeat Briallyn and become warriors.

When Feyre goes into labor Nesta bargains with the Cauldron to save her, giving back the power. However, as she was giving her power back, the Mother intervenes and Nesta keeps some of her powers.

Her and Cassian admit their feelings for one another and their mating ceremony is upon them.

Crescent City 3 Spoilers: When Bryce arrives to Prythian in Crescent City 3, Nesta and Azriel escort her through her quest to find Hel.

Nesta gives Bryce the Death Mask before Bryce’s final battle against the Asteri and gives Bryce’s parents shelter in Prythian during the battle. Everyone’s furious with her for giving away the Mask but Nesta and Bryce are connected and she knows she’ll take good care of it.

Eventually Bryce returns the Mask and Truth-Teller she’s stolen from Azriel. She gifts the Starsword, Truth-Teller’s twin blade, to Nesta. Since only Starborn fae can wield the sword, this makes Nesta Starborn.

Elain, Her Seer Powers and the Elephant in the Room: Her Mating Bond

Elain Archeron is the youngest Archeron sister. She is kind, the most beautiful sister of them all (according to Feyre), and a gentle soul. Elain, with her soft-spoken tone and kind spirit, is also a natural green thumb, feeling her best when her hands are dirty in the ground.

Elain is likely ACOTAR 6’s main character. However, it is mostly speculation and we have no confirmation yet. I have a ton of theories on where Elain’s journey takes her, but this post, as mentioned before, is just a recap.

In A Court of Thorns and Roses, Elain, despite their poverty, managed to create a small vegetable garden in their house. She’s also their dad’s favorite, and coddled by Nesta as the family’s baby.

When Tamlin takes Feyre away, Elain falls under the glamour, thinking Feyre went to care for a relative.

In A Court of Mist and Fury, it is Elain who convinces Nesta to allow Feyre and the Night Court to use their estate as their mortal land base. She convinces the staff to leave and welcomes them home. She is engaged to Graysen, a mortal man who gives her an iron ring as an engagement ring and who hates faeries.

When Ianthe betrays Feyre and tells the King of Hybern Feyre’s family’s location, Elain, alongside Nesta, is dragged into the Cauldron. Just like Nesta, she’s connected to the Cauldron and gets powers as she is turned into a faerie. When she emerges from the Cauldron, Lucien covers her up with his jacket. It is then their mating bond snaps into place, revealing Elain as Lucien’s mate (more on this later).

In A Court of Wings and Ruin, Elain is distraught. She stays in the House of the Wind, but she is in a state of despair, crying and having trouble adjusting to Fae life. She speaks in riddles, misses Graysen, and when looked in her eyes, she appears distant and somewhere else. She is thin, not eating, and withering.

Elain keeps telling the Inner Circle cryptic visions, about mortal queens and others. At first the Inner Circle is worried about her sanity, but it is Azriel who realizes Elain’s visions are real and the Cauldron has made her into a Seer.

Considering Graysen and his father Lord Nolan hate faeries, the engagement is off after Graysen finds out Elain is not only a faerie but also has a mate, Lucien.

Elain slowly becomes adjusted to Fae life, namely becoming close with Nuala and Cerridwen, the two half-wraith who are spies of the Night Court, baking bread and becoming part of the Inner Circle.

The Cauldron deceives Elain during the war and she gets kidnapped by the King of Hybern. Azriel and Feyre rescue her with Tamlin’s help.

When Nesta attempts to distract the King of Hybern so Feyre can nullify the Cauldron, Elain sees her father’s death in a vision before it happens. When the King of Hybern is about to kill Nesta and Cassian, Elain sneaks up on the King of Hybern, killing him with Truth-Teller, Azriel’s sword.

In A Court of Frost and Starlight, Elain seems to be adjusting to life in Prythian and Velaris. She can’t bear the presence of Lucien. However, she becomes close with Azriel who develops feelings for her, although Rhysand orders him to stay away from Elain.

In A Court of Silver Flames, Elain works with the residents of Velaris to restore gardens. Her relationship with Nesta frays and fractures as Nesta is going through her healing journey.

When Nesta tries to keep her away from tracking the Dread Trove, Elain refuses, showing she’s done being coddled.

There is a lot up in the air with Elain, namely the love triangle she’s most likely going to find herself in between Lucien and Azriel. I’m planning on making another post on who I think Elain’s mate is with receipts, but let me know in the comments who you think her mate is: Azriel, Lucien, or even Tamlin.

Tamlin and His Upcoming, Inevitable Redemption Arc

Well, well, well. If it isn’t time to recap the story of everybody’s favorite hot blonde man.

Tamlin is the High Lord of the Spring Court. When Amarantha takes over Prythian, she wants him to sit by her side. When Tamlin refuses, Amarantha curses him and his court. He has to make a girl who hates faeries fall in love with him to break the curse. Tamlin, as a result, sends his sentries to the mortal lands for 49 years in the hopes that a girl will kill one of them and he can go make them fall in love.

When Feyre kills Andras, Tamlin “kidnaps” Feyre and has her live with him in the Spring Court. He begins courting her, and the two of them eventually fall in love. But before Feyre can tell him she loves him, Tamlin, knowing Amarantha would never stop hunting the girl he fell in love with, sends her home and surrenders to Amarantha.

Tamlin also restores Feyre’s family’s wealth and heals her father’s injuries, as Feyre was the source of food for her family.

When Feyre shows up Under the Mountain, Tamlin keeps an impassive attitude so Amarantha does not realize how much Feyre means to him. When Feyre has to kill three faeries, the third one is Tamlin, whom Feyre can stab because he has a stone heart.

After the curse is broken, Tamlin kills Amarantha. Feyre, Lucien, and Tamlin return to the Spring Court.

After the events Under the Mountain, Tamlin is traumatized. He becomes increasingly protective. He is suffocating Feyre. He cannot heal from what happened and unintentionally takes it out on Feyre, which frays their relationship.

Their relationship becomes worse when Rhys comes to collect his bargain and whisks Feyre away on her and Tamlin’s wedding day.

Eventually, Tamlin’s fear of Feyre getting hurt becomes so severe that he locks her in the house. When Rhysand and Morrigan break Feyre out, he assumes they kidnapped her.

Tamlin makes a bargain with the King of Hybern to break the bond between Feyre and Rhysand in exchange for using his lands for the war.

After the events in Hybern, Feyre returns to the Spring Court under the guise of having been under a spell Rhysand put on her. Tamlin is hesitant but willing to overlook the inconsistencies in Feyre’s story just to have her back. Unable to see through Ianthe’s manipulations and Feyre’s scheming, Tamlin loses the trust of his sentries, his friends, and his court. Eventually, the Spring Court falls and Hybern moves in.

At the High Lord meeting, Tamlin accuses Feyre of using High Lords for status. He also admits that he made a desperate bargain with the King of Hybern and never intended to truly work with him.

When Azriel and Feyre arrive to save Elain from Hybern’s camp, Tamlin helps them escape.

After the Cauldron breaks and Feyre repairs it using Rhys’s power, Rhys dies. Tamlin gives a kernel of his power to Rhysand to revive him.

In A Court of Frost and Starlight, Tamlin has fallen into despair. The Spring Court is in ruins and he lives alone. Lucien visits him several times, and so does Rhysand, but Tamlin does everything in his power to drive them both away.

He is sorry for everything he put Feyre through and is in desperate need of forgiveness. Rhysand tries to keep him afloat so the Spring Court does not become a cesspool for foreign invasions.

In A Court of Silver Flames, unable to overcome his trauma and guilt, Tamlin has succumbed to his beast form and cannot stay human. Rhysand visits Tamlin regularly to keep him afloat, but it is a tough battle. Nesta threatens Tamlin when they have meetings with Eris. However, Tamlin refuses to return to civility.

Tamlin has a lot going for him, and there has been a significant amount of humanization to his trauma in the last couple of books. I do believe he’s going to play a significant role in ACOTAR 6, but more on that later.

Morrigan and the Power of Truth

Morrigan is Rhysand’s cousin and wields the power of truth (it is anybody’s guess what that actually means). Her family were the original rulers of the Night Court.

When Morrigan turned 17, she had her first period. Her father arranged her engagement to Eris Vanserra, the heir to the Autumn Court and Beron Vanserra’s oldest son.

Refusing to be defined by her value as breeding stock, Morrigan chooses to take matters into her own hands. She spends a weekend at the Illyrian war camp where Rhysand is training and sleeps with Cassian.

When she loses her virginity, her value to her family is lost. Her parents beat her and leave her at the border of the Autumn Court. Eris abandons her, and Azriel saves Morrigan.

Since then, Morrigan has been serving as Rhysand’s third in the Night Court. She oversees logistics between the Court of Nightmares and the Court of Dreams.

While Azriel still appears to carry a torch for her, she does not return his feelings visibly, although she remains close friends with both Cassian and Azriel.

When Rhysand brings Feyre to the Court of Nightmares after her wedding, Morrigan is friendly to her and welcomes her with open arms. They become close friends as Feyre continues to heal in the Night Court, Morrigan’s own story of abuse and repression and the strength she found in it becoming an inspiration to Feyre.

When Tamlin locks Feyre in the house, it is Morrigan who breaks her out of the manor. She also plays a key role in the meetings with the mortal queens, as their ancestors recognized Mor from the Great War.

In A Court of Wings and Ruin, Morrigan fights in battles against the King of Hybern.

She sleeps with Helion the night of the High Lords meeting but then comes out to Feyre as a gay woman.

In A Court of Frost and Starlight, Morrigan goes to her private estate that nobody else knows about, Athelwood. Here, a dark shadow follows her through the woods, although we don’t know what the shadow is.

In A Court of Silver Flames, it is obvious that Morrigan does not like Nesta and Cassian together. She also has visible attraction and chemistry with Emerie, one of Nesta’s friends who is an Illyrian woman.

Eventually, she is sent to Vallahan as an emissary of the Night Court to get them to sign the peace treaty.

Eris Vanserra, the Elusive Autumn Court Heir

We’re first told of Eris through Morrigan’s story. They are betrothed to one another, and after Morrigan sleeps with Cassian, her family beats her and dumps her at the border of the Autumn Court. The story is that Eris abandons Mor there, wanting nothing to do with her.

We’re also told that when Beron and his sons found out Lucien was in love with a lesser fae, they killed Jesminda.

After Feyre and Lucien flee the Spring Court, they cross Autumn Court territory. Eris and a few of Lucien’s brothers track them and begin hunting them. When Feyre and Lucien cross into Winter Court, Eris catches up. He notices during the scuffle that Feyre has some of Beron’s powers.

Later, Eris allies himself with the Night Court, willing to side with the Inner Circle at the High Lords meeting in exchange for help overthrowing Beron and taking his place as High Lord of the Autumn Court.

In this meeting, Eris also refutes Mor’s accusations about what happened between them all those years ago, hinting that things are not as Mor tells them — but he cannot speak of it.

Eris reveals that when Jesminda died, he refused to participate in her execution. When he realized Beron was also planning to kill Lucien afterward, Eris chose to save Lucien’s life by alerting Tamlin so he could come to Lucien’s aid.

In A Court of Silver Flames, Eris continues working with the Inner Circle to strengthen his claim to the Autumn Court throne. He meets regularly with Cassian, providing intel about Beron.

Eris takes an interest in Nesta. He is given one of the daggers Nesta forged with her power. After seeing Nesta dance in the Night Court, Eris offers Rhys anything in exchange for Nesta’s hand in marriage.

When Briallyn takes Eris captive and places him under the Crown’s control, the Inner Circle worries that Eris has revealed their alliance. Once he regains his mind, Eris confirms he did not leak any information to Beron.

Later, Eris hints that the Night Court needs to ask Mor what truly happened all those years ago — once again suggesting the story we’ve heard isn’t the whole truth.

Eris’s story is fascinating, messy, and there’s clearly more going on beneath the surface.

Lucien Vanserra, The Heir to the Day Court and Elain’s Mate

Lucien Vanserra is the son of the Lady of the Autumn Court and Helion, the High Lord of the Day Court. The Lady and Helion had an affair, but afraid of Beron’s reaction, she ended it and passed Lucien off as Beron’s son.

Lucien grew up as the youngest of seven brothers. He fell in love with Jesminda, a lesser fae. When her father found out, he had Jesminda killed with the help of some of Lucien’s brothers. Eris gave Lucien just enough time to escape to the Spring Court, since Beron was planning to kill him too. Tamlin was alerted just in time and Lucien escaped. The two of them also killed two of Lucien’s brothers during the escape.

Since then, Lucien has functioned as Tamlin’s right-hand man and the emissary of the Spring Court. When Amarantha’s rule began, Lucien offended her, and she took one of his eyes as punishment. He now wears a golden eye made in the Dawn Court that allows him to see through glamour.

When Feyre arrives at the Spring Court, Lucien makes an unlikely friendship with her. Feyre even tries to save Lucien during one of her trials Under the Mountain. After Amarantha’s reign ends, Lucien returns to the Spring Court.

As Feyre and Tamlin’s relationship begins to fracture, Lucien tries to advocate for Feyre’s training, but he never fully takes a stance. When Feyre leaves, Lucien is sent to the Night Court to track her down. He is also part of the bargain Tamlin makes with Hybern.

In Hybern, Elain is thrown into the Cauldron. After she emerges as Fae, Lucien takes one look at her and the mating bond snaps into place.

When Feyre takes down the Spring Court and escapes, Lucien chooses to go with her, wanting to see his mate. He leaves Tamlin behind.

Elain and Lucien’s “relationship” is rocky. Elain is not in a place to entertain the idea of a mate. Lucien eventually leaves the Night Court to look for allies. When he returns, he gets an apartment in Velaris to stay close to Elain.

After A Court of Wings and Ruin, Lucien moves to live in the mortal lands, where he starts living with Jurian and Vassa. Together, they call themselves the Band of Exiles.

Lucien continues to pass along information to the Night Court, serving as emissary to both the Spring Court and the mortal realms to help maintain communication between the parties.

Koschei, Vassa, His Lake and the Swans

Vassa is one of the six mortal queens. In A Court of Mist and Fury, the other five mortal queens tell the Inner Circle that Vassa is sick. In truth, they sold Vassa to a “death lord” named Koschei, who enslaved her by turning her into a firebird by day and a woman by night.

Elain sees visions of Vassa, along with a bird of fire and other women who have feathers white as snow. Lucien, wanting to please Elain by validating her visions, sets out to find Vassa.

Feyre’s father makes a bargain with Koschei, temporarily freeing Vassa to help in the war effort. Vassa joins the final battle against Hybern at the end of A Court of Wings and Ruin, burning through Hybern’s army with her powers.

After the war, Lucien and Vassa become close friends. Lucien, Vassa, and Jurian live together in a manor in the mortal lands, given to them by Graysen. They call themselves the Band of Exiles.

Feyre and Helion both try to break Vassa’s curse, but neither of them succeed.

Koschei is a Death-god. He is the brother of the Bone Carver and the Weaver. Koschei is even more powerful than the Bone Carver and is a skilled sorcerer. He lives in a lake on the continent across the sea, where his presence still lingers and influences events from afar.

ACOTAR and Crescent City Connections

This section contains spoilers for Crescent City. I strongly recommend reading all of Crescent City and ACOTAR before continuing.

I’m going to try to keep this section as factual as possible without diving into any specific theories on how the two universes are connected. For theories, check back on this post regularly. We’ll mark them clearly by section.

Bryce Quinlan, the Starborn Fae queen of Midgard, uses the Luna’s Horn to arrive in Prythian at the end of House of Sky and Breath. She then spends most of her time traveling with Nesta and Azriel, and develops a connection with Nesta, whose powers have always been mysterious. Given that the two series are now visibly connected, it is impossible for ACOTAR 6 to ignore what happened in House of Flame and Shadow.

During House of Flame and Shadow, we learn that Truth-Teller is the sister sword to the Starsword Bryce wields. She steals Truth-Teller to use in her battle against the Asteri, who the Fae of Prythian know as the Daglan. (I also think they’re the Valg, but more on that in another post.) Bryce, with the help of the Death Mask given to her by Nesta, defeats the Asteri. When she returns, she gives back the Death Mask and also gifts the Starsword to Nesta.

Nesta bears the mark of the Starborn Fae — the eight-pointed star — on her back. She can also wield the Dread Trove. It is not far-fetched to assume that Nesta is Starborn herself.

The Starborn Fae, fleeing the Asteri (or Daglan), settled in the Dusk Court, which we now know as the Prison in Prythian. At the end of House of Flame and Shadow, Bryce restores life to the lands that were once considered dead. This likely includes the Prison, which would bring the Dusk Court back into play. Notably, it currently has no known ruler.

I know I said I wouldn’t get into theory territory, but there are some obvious connections worth mentioning. Nesta has never bowed to Rhysand, and she made a point to say she never will. She does not see herself as part of the Night Court. She can wield Starborn power, bears the eight-pointed star on her skin, and is tied to ancient artifacts. Nesta, Gwyn, and Emerie call themselves the Valkyries, legendary Norse warriors who rode Pegasuses. At the end of House of Flame and Shadow, Bryce is summoned back to Avallen because the Pegasuses have returned.

It is not far-fetched to consider that Nesta and the Valkyries might take over the Dusk Court, and that Nesta is being set up to rule it. Will that happen in ACOTAR 6? Only time will tell.

The official answer is: no idea.

However, one can speculate. There are a couple of contenders:

  • Elain: This is probably the most likely candidate. Elain has recovered from her trauma and is exploring her powers. She’s in some sort of a love triangle (or hexagon, if you read the theories) between Lucien and Azriel.
  • Morrigan: Some really weird stuff is going on with Morrigan in A Court of Frost and Starlight onward. She clearly has a connection with Emerie, but she’s also abroad doing other things. We have lots of theories about her, so it could be her book.
  • Nesta: Feyre and Rhysand received three books plus a novella. Nesta’s story is far from over by the end of A Court of Silver Flames and Crescent City 3: House of Flame and Shadow, so it could very easily be about her.
  • Tamlin: Now don’t come at us, but Tamlin is on his way to the best redemption arc possible. So no matter who the main character is, don’t be surprised if Tamlin plays a major role. (And no, we still refuse to believe Elain is his mate.)
  • Lucien, Vassa, Elain’s ex-fiancé Grayson, and Koschei: Regardless of who the main character is, these side characters will likely play major roles in ACOTAR 6.

We’ll probably make another post soon about these theories. Until then, we’d love to hear who you think ACOTAR 6 is about!

Do I need to read Crescent City Before ACOTAR 6?

Yes. You absolutely should. Crescent City and A Court of Thorns and Roses are connected. With what happens at the end of Crescent City 2 and throughout Crescent City 3, it is nearly impossible for ACOTAR 6 to not be impacted.
Crescent City is essential reading for A Court of Thorns and Roses moving forward.

You should read it either way, Crescent City is amazing. Who doesn’t love a murder mystery that turns into a massive galaxy-wide conspiracy?

Why is ACOTAR 6 taking so long?

This is pure speculation from us, of course, but the short answer is: pressure.

There’s a massive amount of pressure on Sarah J. Maas to deliver an amazing book. We fully believe she will. But after the mixed reception Crescent City 3 received, we don’t blame her for taking her time with ACOTAR 6.

Hell, we appreciate it. Take all the time you need, SJM.

Do i need to read Throne of Glass Before ACOTAR 6?

You don’t need to. But you should. Throne of Glass is connected to this universe and until Crescent City we don’t quite know how. There isn’t quite as obvious of a crossover yet, aside from the fact that major Throne of Glass Spoilers do not click if you haven’t read it yet Rhysand slowing Aelin’s fall as she goes through the Wyrdgates . but we don’t know which way the story will go, so I would strongly recommend reading Throne of Glass.

Not to mention Throne of Glass is SJM’s best series in my opinion and you’re missing out if you skip it!

That’s everything (for now!) Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments! If you have any questions let us know of that too, we’ll update the post as we go. In the meantime, we’ll be updating the website to include all of the book summaries and theories (like is Rhys actually a Valg?!), so sign up for our newsletter to get notified as we post!

For our other A Court of Thorns and Roses Posts, check out the ACOTAR category!

Until then, happy reading (and waiting!)
