If you’re a regular BookToker, you already know that Quicksilver by Callie Hart took us by storm in June 2024. As the first book in the Fae and Alchemy series, it made an unexpected impact, and many of us became completely obsessed—with Kingfisher, the vampires, and just what Saeris Fane can really do with her alchemy magic. The ending of Quicksilver left me absolutely impatient for Book 2 news. Well, the wait is finally over! Not only do we have a release date, but we also finally know the official title of the sequel.

The second book in the Fae and Alchemy series is officially titled Brimstone—and I’m already obsessed with the implications.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Quicksilver was its unique take on alchemy. It did something with the FMC that I haven’t seen before, making the magic system feel fresh and unpredictable. Saeris, once human, is now a half-fae, half-vampire powerhouse—the strongest Alchemist in centuries, if not ever. And based on this quote from Quicksilver:
Pointing at the runes on my index and middle fingers, he named them one at a time. “Earth. Air. Fire. Water. Salt. Brimstone. Quicksilver. The full gamut. More power than any Alchemist I’ve ever encountered. You are capable of restoring me to my power and a lot more besides.”

…it sounds like Brimstone is going to focus on Saeris mastering the next element. I can’t help but wonder—will it be as chatty as Quicksilver was?
And if Callie Hart is setting up a book for each element, does that mean we still have Salt, Water, Fire, Air, and Earth to look forward to?
Probably just my wishful thinking—but a girl can dream, right?
When is Quicksilver Book 2 is coming out?
Quicksilver Book 2—aka Brimstone—is officially dropping on November 18, 2025.
Originally, it was supposed to come out in October 2024, but it got pushed back. Why? If I had to guess Callie Hart got picked up by a major publisher, and they wanted to give Brimstone a full-blown marketing rollout. At least we know it’s coming, and hopefully, that extra time means it’ll be even better.
What’s going to happen in Quicksilver Book 2?
As you know, we left Kingfisher slowly going mad and Saeris as the newly minted Queen of the Vampires. Not to mention, the two of them are strongly tied to the God of Chaos and are somehow expected to save the world from ending. No big deal.
It’ll likely be about Saeris mastering her alchemy skills while learning to rule the Vampire Court—all while desperately trying to keep Kingfisher from completely losing it.
Callie Hart mentioned that Carrion and Kingfisher spend a lot of alone time, which means we should brace ourselves for some witty remarks and light violence.
Aside from that, we won’t know much until we get closer to the release date and get more reveals, like the back-of-the-book blurb and/or the cover.
Until then, we speculate!
