This post contains spoilers for From Blood and Ash, Flesh and Fire and The Awakening Series.
If you’re like me and gnawing at the bars of your enclosure to get back to the From Blood and Ash universe with The Primal of Blood and Bone, Book 6 of the From Blood and Ash series coming out on September 23, 2025, you’re in the right place.
As part of the series breakdown I’m doing to count down to FBAA#6, I figured it’s time to break down the prophecy line by line to guess what might happen in Book 6. Now JLA is a genius and I’m sure she’ll throw us a bunch of curveballs in FBAA#6, but it’s always fun to guess.
We’ve been drip fed the prophecy involving the First and Second Daughters for nearly 12 books now, with us getting the final version by the end of Born of Blood and Ash. So now that we know exactly what the prophecy entails and the timelines are converging between Nyktos and company and Poppy and her group, it’s time to see what we’re up against in Book 6 with Kolis’s return on the horizon.
From Blood and Ash Prophecy Breakdown
We finally have the full prophecy as of Chapter 28 of Born of Blood and Ash (Flesh and Fire Book 4).
From the desperation of golden crowns and born of mortal flesh, a great primal power rises as the heir to the lands and seas, to the skies and all the realms. A shadow in the ember, a light in the flame, to become a fire in the flesh. For the one born of the blood and the ash, the bearer of two crowns and the bringer of life to a mortal, god, and draken. A silver beast with blood seeping from its jaws of fire, bathed in the flames of the brightest moon to ever be birthed, will become one.
When the stars fall from the night, the great mountains crumble into the seas, and old bones raise their swords beside the gods, the false one will be stripped from glory as the great powers stumble and falls, some all at once, and they will fall through the fires into a void of nothing. Those left standing will tremble as they kneel, will weaken as they become small, as they become forgotten. For finally, the Primal rises, the giver of blood and the bringer of bone, the Primal of Blood and Ash.
Two born of the same misdeeds born of the same great and Primal power in the mortal realm. A first daughter with blood full of fire, fated for the once-promised King. And the second daughter with blood full of ash and ice, the other half of the future King. Together they will remake the realms as they usher in the end. And so it will begin with the last Chosen blood spilled, the great conspirator birthed from the flesh and fire of the Primals will awaken as the Harbinger and the Bringer of Death and Destruction to the lands gifted by the gods. Beware for the end will come from the east and lay waste to all which lies between.

Okay so that’s a lot. Let’s break it down line by line.
From the desperation of golden crowns
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
This is from Flesh and Fire when King Roderick, the golden king has made the deal to stop the Rot. As you’ll recall, King Roderick has called upon The True Primal of Life at the time Eythos, Nyktos’s father and Kolis’s brother.
born of mortal flesh, a great primal power rises as the heir to the lands and seas, to the skies and all the realms

Seraphena is the daughter of King Lamont and Queen Calliphe, two mortals. She is born a mortal. At the end of A Fire in the Flesh Sera’s ascension has made her the True Primal of Life, turning her into a queen of gods from her mortal flesh making her the heir to the lands and seas, to the skies and all realms. This makes sense as The Primal of Life is the ruler of the realm.
A shadow in the ember, a light in the flame, to become a fire in the flesh.

Well these are the titles of the Flesh and Fire series and they follow Seraphena’s story. It is also the titles Nyktos has given to her during her coronation. Sera, is the shadow in the ember, as the carrier of the embers of life given by Eythos to the Mierel bloodline. The Shadow in the Ember
For the one born of the blood and the ash, the bearer of two crowns and the bringer of life to a mortal, god, and draken.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Originally we thought this was about Poppy as she could claim the crown of Solis and Atlantia. But in fact, Sera is Born of Blood and Ash and this is her. She is the Queen of the Primals, and she is the first born of the Mierel bloodline, making her the heir to both crowns. Sera has also resurrected everyone mentioned, mortal (her sister’s wife), god (she ascended Bela) and draken (she resurrected a draken in Kyn’s court).
A silver beast with blood seeping from its jaws of fire

Nyktos’s Primal Notam is a silver wolf.
bathed in the flames of the brightest moon to ever be birthed, will become one.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
This is about Nyktos and Sera’s marriage. Nyktos gives Seraphena the title of the Brightest Moon at their wedding, supposedly for her hair, but we know there’s more to the story than that as fate intervenes.
When the stars fall from the night, the great mountains crumble into the seas, and old bones raise their swords beside the gods
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
This is the last battle at the end of Born of Blood and Ash, where Sera, Nyktos and the others fights against Kolis. And the stars falling from the night is likely referencing the Diamond, the star that holds Sotoria’s soul.
the false one will be stripped from glory
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Kolis rules as the false Primal of Life after he stole Eythos’s embers. When Seraphena ascends, Kolis has to become The True Primal of Death once more. He is also regularly called “The False King” once Sera claims her power. At the end of Born of Blood and Ash Kolis is entombed, being stripped from glory.
as the great powers stumble and falls, some all at once, and they will fall through the fires into a void of nothing. Those left standing will tremble as they kneel, will weaken as they become small, as they become forgotten
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
This part is about the Primals that were slain at the end of Born of Blood and Ash including Phanos, Kyn, Embrys and Veses. Don’t forget that in From Blood and Ash series we do not know about any of the Primals. Instead, Nyktos and Seraphena’s inner circle like Aios and Rainn are mentioned as gods. The primals stripped of their powers are literally forgotten by the history, they’re nothing.
For finally, the Primal rises,
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
This is where we begin transitioning to the current timeline of events, Poppy’s story.
the giver of blood
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
This is about Seraphena, she is the True Primal of Life, the giver of blood.
and the bringer of bone
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Nyktos is a Primal of Death. Kolis’s primal form makes him look like a skeleton, death is very closely associated with death.
the Primal of Blood and Ash.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Poppy is born of Nyktos and Seraphena’s bloodline. A primal born in mortal lands and she is a descendent of both The Primal of Life and The Primal of Death, making her the Primal of Life and Death or, The Primal of Blood and Bone.
Two born of the same misdeeds born of the same great and Primal power in the mortal realm.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
In her attempt at revenge, Isbeth has captured Ires two fullfill the great prophecy. Knowing the dangers of a mortal girl born out of a primal line in the mortal land, probably having learned of the Prophecy from Callum or Malec, Isbeth has coerced Ires to have children with her, Millicent and Poppy. The two of them are born of the same misdeeds in the mortal land, born from Seraphena’s blood line, the great Primal mentioned.
A first daughter with blood full of fire, fated for the once-promised King.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Millicent is Ires and Isbeth’s first daughter. The once-promised King is Malik Da’Neer, Casteel’s older brother who was supposed to rule Atlantia before he was captured. Malik claims he is heartmates with Millicent.
And the second daughter with blood full of ash and ice, the other half of the future King.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Poppy is the second daughter of Ires and Isbeth. She is also heartmates with Casteel Da’Neer, the second son of the Atlantian throne and he becomes the King of Atlantia alongside Poppy.
Together they will remake the realms as they usher in the end.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
This is where it gets tricky, because we don’t know what this means yet. At the end of The War of Two Queens, Nektas arrives and tells them Poppy’s ascension was prophecized but they don’t know what means.
I personally think The Fall of Ruin and Wrath is the future. We already speculate that the stone like creatures (Thorne) in The Awakening series are the ancients, who are not what they seem. They don’t appear to be agents of good. In fact, the ancients asleep look like they have their own prophecy to fullfill and awaken as they are trapped asleep in the ground right now.
My speculation is that in order to defeat Kolis, Poppy will need to end the realms as the primal of Blood and Bone and usher a new era, the world we see in Fall of Ruin and Wrath.
And so it will begin with the last Chosen blood spilled
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Poppy is the second Maiden and the last Chosen. Her blood was spilled and her culling has began, becoming the catalyst of the events.
the great conspirator birthed from the flesh and fire of the Primals will awaken
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Kolis literally has started leaking from the ground at the end of the War of Two Queens. I’d wager he has a solid form by now.
as the Harbinger and the Bringer of Death and Destruction to the lands gifted by the gods.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
Keela confirms in Born of Blood and Ash that Sotoria which resides in Poppy right now is the Harbinger. She foresaw that when Sotoria returned, meaning the Harbinger arrived, Death and Destruction will follow as well. This is Kolis.
Kolis has been stalking Sotoria across timelines and he has been stirring since the day Poppy was born. Remember in The Crown of Gilded Bones we also learned that Nyktos has also awakened when Poppy was born, making it so that Sotoria’s rebirth is the catalyst for fullfilling the Prophecy.
Beware for the end will come from the east and lay waste to all which lies between.
Jennifer L. Armentrout, Born of Blood and Ash
This is pretty usual, ominous death and destruction stuff. The only thing worth noting that Illiseum is to the east of Carsedonia (formerly Lasania) and the Primals will arrive from the East.
So there you have it that’s what the breakdown of the Prophecy? Do you think Poppy will end the realms? How do you think FBAA will wrap up? If you want to hear how I think the Primal of Blood and Bone will shake out let me know in the comments!
This isn’t the last book yet, but we’re definitely inching closer, so I’m dying to find out how things go and how right (and let’s face it how wrong I was :D)
